Did you know that Responsible Research in Research is a UK Reproducibility Network external stakeholder affiliate member?
Here at Responsible Research in Practice we are working collaboratively with the UK Reproducibility Network. Our aim is to improve the reproducibility of life science research and we do this as a UK Reproducibility Network external stakeholder affiliate member.
Since 2015, Responsible Research in Practice has been working to support researchers and client organisations to enhance the rigour and reproducibility of life science research.
We do this through a range of activities including:
- specialist training courses delivered online and in-person that currently focus on three key areas – Responsible Animal Research – Improving Reproducibility – Statistical Analysis;
- a FREE Monthly Responsible Research Webinar Series, with LIVE online sessions and 25+ webinar recordings made available on-demand alongside the webinar handouts;
- invited presentations to groups such as the Zebrafish Husbandry Association (ZHA), the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) and Alzheimers Research UK (AR UK) ECR Symposium, the 11th World Congress on Alternatives to Animals (WC11), plus the Australia and New Zealand Laboratory Animal Association (ANZLAA) Conference 2021 and UKRIO monthly webinar discussing research involving animals.
- consultancy services such as the development of bespoke in-house training (read some client case studies), involvement with the UKRIO Research Integrity Primer on Research Involving Animals, the NC3Rs Developing and Implementing an Institutional 3Rs strategy document and more.
Our efforts may be specialist and unique within the Laboratory Animal and Life Science sectors. But thankfully we are not alone in our endeavours within the context of the broader research landscape. It is therefore an absolute pleasure to be able to link up our efforts with those of other researchers, institutions, funders, publishers and stakeholders via the UK Reproducibility Network (UKRN).
The UKRN was formed in 2019, to facilitate the co-ordination of likeminded individuals and organisations to drive positive change. Through its membership this network seeks to:
- investigate factors contributing to poor research reproducibility and replicability,
- promote training activities, and
- aid the dissemination of best practice to improve the trustworthiness and quality of research.
